i've never known what to do when the flop comes all of the same suit. i can never put someone on a flush, especially heads up. maybe a draw, but i never expect them to have the made flush already. what do you do in this situation?

I'm not expert...but heads up you're getting chased by A/Kspades regardless of betting.

heads up you can always assume he doesn't have the flush. In reality though, how can you really tell? Top pair with a great kicker is usually enough reason to push on the flop heads up, no matter how connected the board is.

This is a tough one. If he's got a high spade, he's probably coming for all his money given the chip counts. It's unlikely he's already got the flush so I wouldn't worry about it. I would be tempted to check behind on the flop. If a non-spade comes off, then you can put him to the test. If your check induces a bet on the turn, then you have a tough decision to make. All in all, I think your play was fine, but I think waiting until the turn to bet/raise may be a little bit better, so as to put maximum pressure on him in case he has one spade (and save money if the spade does hit).
One question though. Is the hand converter messed up? Those chip totals don't make sense. There should be 1200 in the pot on the flop, 3600 on the turn. And the BB calls don't add up: 600+1200+3075 = 4875. Was there a rake or ante? |

[/ QUOTE ] hmmm..that's weird. i can't find the hand history anymore either. the converter must be messed. i'm not sure if that was at the first level of 100/200 or the 2nd level where there's a 25 ante. either way the pot after the flop should be either 1200 or 1250, i don't see where 1025 comes from. as for the result of the hand, my opponent did actually have 2 spades in his hand. |
