Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker

[ QUOTE ] You can now import OBSERVED games as well as the ones you play in. I have 2 PC's with 4 games open 24/7 just watching players. [/ QUOTE ] You don't actually have to be sitting at the table for Party to be writing the hand histories to the HD? That's news to me if it's true. [/ QUOTE ] Just need to have the table open. |

Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker
Do you have to be sitting at a table to have observed hands logged? Or can you just have a table open?
After 2 hours of having tables open, I realized they weren't being logged, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. |

Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker
Tell PT to search in the main Party/Empire folder. This is where the hand histories are saved when you are observing a table.

Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker
This one's pretty obvious, but I didn't start utilizing it until recently... so I'll mention it.
Use the histories on your opponents to see what hands they've raised preflop with and shown down. It's not going to always be helpful due to small samples, but for a few it's a goldmine. I had a table tonight with one guy who in his first few orbits at the table raised such gems as 95o and 64s. Once I realized this, I punished him mercilessly 3-betting and isolating with such hands as KJs and ATo. Knowing your opponents VP$IP and PFR% is great, but I find studying this for people at the table can be extremely helpful in putting them on a hand. |

Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker
I don't think you can simply press a button that says "merge". Export the hands from one database to textfiles and the import them into the other one. The last step is a real pain in the ass because you can only select a few files for import each time. As far as I know, this step has to be done manually.

Re: Getting the most out of Poker Tracker
To imported a giant batch of exported files:
1. Open up the auto-importer for the destination database. 2. Change the settings to include the export folder as a folder to scan. 3. Begin import. Be prepared to wait hours (and I do mean hours) if you're importing more than 10k hands. |

[/ QUOTE ] The observed hands are not in your Hand History folder, they are in your main EmpirePoker (or assuming PartyPoker) folder and are .hhf files. You can set up with the newest Poker Tracker patch to read this files automatically or just manually import them. I believe they go away unlike the regular hand history files when you close the poker app. |
