Default Can you create a new Party account if old account has lapsed?

There has not been any activity on my partypoker account for at least a year (I think). However, I may have logged in about 7-8 months ago just to see if I had a balance, but there was none.

I had once considered becoming an affiliate with Empire or Party and understood that after 6 months with no activity an account would lapse and the account holder could simply redeposit with Party again, thus obtaining the standard signup bonuses etc (and more importantly using a different affiliate). Can anyone confirm this?

I have been playing exclusively at Empire since March 2004 but am considering returning to Party because of an affiliate issue. I am pretty sure my initial Party account was initiated directly through the PartyPoker website.

They let me. I just emailed them and asked if they could close my old account so I could sign-up under a different screen name. I mentioned I hadn't used my old account in about 8 months. They said no problem, I opened a new account, no issues.
