I would raise preflop, you most probably have the best hand at that point.

Beyond that point, I would have played it the exact same way. Calling the flop would have been too weak, and checking the turn would be inviting people to attack back at you... The flop raise, and aggressive turn and river were fine.

If someone did have the trip sevens yet didn't play them hard at you by the turn, then note them down for future referance for they are the perfect opponent... passive to the hilt.

I would even consider checking behind on this river depending on your opponent. If you think he is capable of calling down this whole time with a pocket pair or some weak flop draw that paired (98, JT), then I would bet. However, it's unlikely anyone would bet a flop like this without an at least an A or 7. With the J on the river, the best you can hope for is a split, unless your opponent will bet the flop and call down with complete trash.

I agree with the limp preflop. I would not raise ATo here.

Don't let that bother you. More often than not, this type of passive player will show you 88-TT or Ax. You played it right.

Just curious, reverse the roles and be the opponent sitting with AJ, you bet out on the board and you are raised, do you let go or do you 3 bet?

you played it right. The flop raise knocks out weaker drawing hands. raising PF is a bad idea. this is the best kind of opponent, the player who calls to draw, hits his draw, and calls some more. he saved you $.

With the paired board I am just calling. Honestly though. that is the only Ax that had me beat, until that J fell, at which point the pot is split. AQ, or AK, would have been raised pre-flop; in most cases. So the question I ask is: do I worry about AJ, or even AQ and AK, or do I reraise with him on A, x- smaller than T?

What do you think?
