Default Looking for home poker chips? Just get the real thing.........

I've been through the disaster of trying to figure out which chips to buy for home use. And it was a disaster. After hours and hours of research, visiting as many local places as you can, and receiving samples in the mail, you go from not knowing anything about poker chips to becomming an expert on the subject. But in the end you still don't know what to do or what you are going to get once you make a decision.

Of course I'm talking about the good stuff here. No plastic, no metal inserts, and forget Ebay, I wanted the exact same thing used in casinos, period. So thats what I got. Real casino chips made by Paulson.

After all of the research, I happened to run across a company that sells used casino chips. They buy them from casinos that are either going out of business or buying new chips, so naturally they had what I was looking for, which was the absolute honest to goodness REAL THING!

Now I did happen to get real lucky as far as the timing goes. Due to the nature of the business, their inventory is constantly changing. But when I had contacted them (its been about a year ago now) they had just received a shipment of chips they had purchased from a casino that never opened. Thats right the place went under before they ever opened the doors, but after they had bought their chips. Like I said I got lucky. So I bought 1000 actual casino chips from them at less than half of the original cost and they were brand new. Did I say I got lucky? Wow.

I was thrilled and I am thrilled with the chips, as they truly are the real thing. Anyway I just thought I would pass the information along in case someone else was interested. The email address I have for them is Finnetti @ aol (dot) com.

Like I said its been about one year so I can't say what they may have available at this time, but it may be worth checking out. The cost ranged between 45-70 cents per chip for the ones they had available at the time. And anyone that has done the research knows thats cheap for Paulson chips.

Just a possible option for those that want the real thing......

At the time I dealt with them, no, they did not have a website. They did however email me some links to pages they had set up with examples of what they had at the time. I do have a phone number for them though, its 702-435-2028.

Yeah, doesn't make a lot of sense in this day and age, but as I said they do have some pages on the web set up for viewing what they have. Here are a few an old links they sent me for an idea of what they might have.

Retired Poker Chips

More Chips

One more

They seem like nice folks and perhaps a bit old school, meaning they may be slow to take advantage of the present technowledgy. Hey, they may have a website set up now, I really don't know. Check out the links for an idea, though I seriously doubt that they still have any of the ones pictured.

Prices for used H&C chips have jumped about 35% or more over the past year or two.

They are called Spinetti's.
Spinetti's Web Site
Just check their email. And yes, they have adjusted their prices to reflect the current trend.

What are some of the prices you paid for your real clays? Did you get any from them?

(you should show us some pictures of your collection)

These are the folks that I got my chips from and I paid 45 cents per chip. I see they do have a website now, and judging from what they have available, it looks like the prices have remained substantially the same. I bought 1000 chips and received a pretty good discount off of the prices they get for smaller orders.

I really don't see anything listed on their website that I would be interested in. But the thing is their inventory can change daily. The ones I bought were only available for a couple of weeks. They got them in and immediately sold all of them, so its doubtful if everything that they purchase makes it to the website.

The best bet for anyone interested is to call and talk to them. Tell them what you are looking for and that you want to be notified when they get something new in. I would say the good stuff doesn't sit around too long.

A little over a year ago there was no problem getting Paulsons as they were still selling to the public!

At that time, Spinnetis bought up a huge lot of these chips when Paulson announced that they were restricting their chips to casinos only. They had quite a few chip styles (Scandia, Good Luck Club, Gamblers' Pleasure, Viva Las Vegas etc...)

Unfortunately, your info is little out of date i'm afraid!

Also - I would say that chip prices have jumped much more than 35% - at least for Paulsons.
