Is there a way to get rid of empire popups?
Damn, what started as perhaps one per day, are now coming up all the time. Seems like every 15 minutes. I never want any of them and can't find a setting, but maybe I'm blind...
any help? |

Re: Is there a way to get rid of empire popups?
i especially liked it when i was on my computer at 9am-ish or so and got a pop-up for the $50k tourney that takes place some 11-12 hours later.
Hurry Up!!!!! Register Now!!!!! To address your query....I know of no way to turn them off. But some of the computer-saavy guys in here have put together those no-frills versions of the tables, etc. maybe someone can figure out a way to kill those awful pop-ups because it's obvious empire doesn't seem inclined to do anything about it. it's incredibly weird too.....obviously they are trying to get more players for their guaranteed tourneys that frequently are money-losers for them.....yet, they still cut-off the registration 10-minutes before tourney start thereby virtually assuring a healthy overlay. from the same brilliant minds that brought you the $500-bonus-fiasco as well as the Empire-VIP points formula. |

It may be the start of a good bussiness for our Windows programmers in this forum to design a poker shareware pop-up blocker for poker clients . I will there trying their first beta version

Re: Is there a way to get rid of empire popups?
I'm feeling frisky.....
Dear Empire, I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for all of the wonderful tournament reminder pop-up windows that grace my computer throughout the day when I have your client open. Not only do I enjoy receiving notification of that night's guaranteed-tourneys no less than 12 hours before they are to be played but I also appreciate getting reminded about said tournaments every 15-20 minutes. I find some of the language particularly exciting. When the pop-up window says "Hurry!! You ONLY have 6 hours and 48 minutes left to register" it makes me want to drop everything I am doing and get signed-up for that tourney POST-HASTE!! But it is somewhat disappointing when I get the next pop-up telling me to "Hurry!! Only 6 hours and 28 minutes left to register". You see, I have a terrible memory so I typically get super-duper excited all over again and try to register only to get told that I am already registered for the tourney. I really want to register though so usually I will 'unregister' for this tourney so that I can register AGAIN!! I hope you don't mind. I find it EXTREMELY exciting. By the way, is it possible to get these reminders more frequently? I am only getting them every 15-20 minutes or so and I would really prefer to get them at least a couple times per minute. That way I could constantly be registering and unregistering for the various tourneys you are promoting. Oh, What Glorious Fun!!! Anyway, keep up the good work. |

great e-mail. Yet another example of Empire's mismanagement. They're lucky they piggybacked on Party's aggressive marketing.

Anxiously awaiting their reply. |

1) Unplug monitor
2) Open window 3) Lift monitor, and drop out of window. Be careful not to self-defenestrate. |
