OK, I should have said loose/passive. 5 or more to the flop is pretty normal in this game. Some very good players will play any 2 on the button for $2 or for $1 in the SB.

I have to say that this game is very fun to play in. In a regular game you fold a lot; in this game you get to see a lot of flops.

Default Re: $4/8 with 1/2 blinds? Structure and strategy Questions - A success

My one trip to the MB playing 1-2 4-8 with a 1/2 kill to 6-12.

My experience was an extremely passive tightish table. I took the approach of raising pre-flop slighlty looser than normal, and play TAG post flop early. Initially, I got a lot of folders, and people grumbling that I was a maniac, and I swept several blinds and bluffed out quite a few 2-3 caller pots post flop.

Then I tightened up, and was really payed off when I pulled wired Kings and I got 2 loose pissed off callers to the river that thought I had junk, one with J10 with J on board and one with pocket 8s.

Seemed to work as a strategy at that table...
Comments?

(Then one of the guys accused me of a string bet pre-flop(what would be the point), he ends up to be a dealer and the its my word against his, floor rules for him...I'm up $150 in 3 hours and have dinner reservs in 1 hr, so I get up and leave, tell the floor guy he's full of it, and cash my winnings...)
