I disagree, and in spite I post this for review:

Party Poker 1,000/2,000 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, MP3 folds, Button folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (7.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

River: (10.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Final Pot: 13.50 BB = $27,000

Your friend is misguided about the nature of professional poker playing. S/he's not alone. Simple as that.

Dude, the Pacific 1000/2000 game is way softer than the Party one. You should be playing there instead. Sure their software is a little slow, but your winrate of about 1350 BB/100 hands should mean you still make enough to survive. (I extrapolated the 13.5 BB you presumably won on this hand over the long term, which I think is pretty legitimate. Your true winrate might be somewhat lower, but surely no less than 100 BB/100 hands. I sure hope you didn't lose the posted hand, though, because then you stand to lose like $2.7 million per 100.)

just my 2c.

cheers,

mn

Okay, apparently my joke was old and unoriginal. But in my defense I make it a point not to read Josh's posts so it was new to me.

Despite all the saracasm, which I expected, hopefully this thread will be enough to get my friend, who's poker experience consists soley of royal vegas poker, $5nl sng home games, and WPT, to see the light and stop the insanity. Of course, he'll probably say that posters in this forum don't know everything, but i guess the royal vegas players do.
