Re: Help with KQ
I don't think you did anything wrong. Your pot odds on the turn were barely enough to even think of calling. Plus the possibility that you are already drawing dead. Nice fold

Re: Help with KQ
I think this hand was played very well on all streets. Nice flop raise, and good lay down on the turn.

Re: Help with KQ
on such a ragged board the dude betting into the preflop raiser obviously has a piece of the board, probably the Jack. you have no backdoor flush draw and a weak backdoor straight. the pot is a decent size and the raise is giving you 14:2 or 7:1 immidiate odds. depending on how many outs you give yourself, the raise is actually pretty marginal considering you could be reverse dominated, and even if a K or Q hits on the turn could set you up for a straight redraw on the river.
but then again, you may have the full 6 outs which can be likely on such ragged boards, even just 4 outs will suffice, so you'd like to see a cheap river. raising will work most of the time to do that. nicely done. turn is a easy fold. when drawing to overcard outs, an important thing to remember is that you could be reverse dominated. its not something that you should have to worry about often but it'll happen from time to time in certain situations, especially when the top card is adjacent to your cards, i.e. a jack to your queen or even a jack to your king. but in low limit games QJ or KJ is probably giving your typical LL player too much credit |
