Would you play against a family member?
after watching Annie and Howard last night, and knowing how I feel about playing against family members it got me thinking.
So I thought I'd ask - when would you play against a family member? |

Re: Would you play against a family member?
Personally I don't want to be taking money directly from a family member, and against my wife, it's just pointless, since she doesn't play.
In an MTT - I'd live with it if we were at the same table, but would rather we weren't. |

Re: Would you play against a family member?
If there were good players, sure, I'd have no problem playing them. I wouldn't take money from people I care about when they have no chance.
A tournament situation would be different. Then anything goes. |

Re: Would you play against a family member?
For nickels and dimes and quarters, sure. For anything like remotely serious money, heck no. For who has to wash the dishes for a week? Bring it on punk!

Re: Would you play against a family member?
its funny b/c i play small games with my brother all the time and he is always difficult to read. in fact he is basically the hardest person for me to read. thats one thing that me and howard lederer have in common. probably the only thing.

Re: Would you play against a family member?
I play $5-$15 home NL tourney's with my wife, brother, and sister-in-law along with a bunch of friends all the time. With how long it takes to play a tourney live with a bunch of people that are inexperienced, it's more fun per dollar than going to a bar. And if I usually make some money I figure it's going to the cost of the clay chips I got and the poker table I built. Plus the hassle of always playing host.
Me likey that idea of playing for chores though. That could be fun. WiteKnite |
