Default Spyware

I have used ad aware and every time I log back on the spyware is back. I used to have another free program that worked but can't remember the name. Any suggestions?

Try Spybot Search and Destroy

Make sure you immunize, and I also like to turn on the Tea timer.

You will have a lot less problems if you use the mozilla browser instead of IE.

I run Norton anti virus and it will not delete the crap, it gives me the option of excluding it from future searchs but will not let me delete it, anyone know whats up with that?

If it's currently running it might not let you delete it. Make sure to close all suspicious programs from your task manager before trying to get rid of them.

The only thing in my start menu was dlhelper.exe, now gone,
How do I find task manager?

I am not sure grannie, there was quite a few things, I have not downloaded microgaming stuff lately.

I think I picked this crap up at consumptionjunction which a friend told me about.

Standard answer for protection and prevention:

To remove suspected spyware/viruses

Perform an online virus scan.
Download, update, and run these tools:
Spybot Search & Destroy
Lavasoft Adaware
CWShredder
Repeat as necessary until clean.

To protect against reinfection
download and use these:

Javacool's SpywareBlaster
Javacool's SpywareGuard
Malware-blocking HOSTS file
If you still experience problems after doing these steps, download HijackThis

Good luck

JAque

just do Ctr-Alt-Del and look at the menu of processes running. Anything suspicious, just end task it and once you've gotten rid of anything that looks like it doesn't belong, then run your various antivirus and spyware programs. This might not help at all, but you never know.
