Well I have more control of my left hand. I just naturally batted righty so in tennis I am used to that motion in general and to have any force behind swinging a tennis racket. In ping pong I dont exactly need strength, and more control so I use my left. FWIW

No way are there that many "ambidexterous" people. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. People think if they are a switch hitter in baseball or can eat with their "off" hand they are ambidextrous. There are very few truly ambidextrous people, less than 0.1% but everyone ants to believe they're special, right? (Much like if you took a poll in the casino to find all the lifetime losing or break-even players...you won't find any, they're all winners) Unless you can write and throw a ball equally well with either hand, you are X-handed. On a side note, people are also right and left footed. But you don't notice it unless you try to do something skillful with your feet like play soccer or kick a field goal. |

Yes, I agree... Its almost like people that are bilingual... You are still more one than the other. If I were perfectly fluent in Spanish, my main language would be still be English (my thoughts and pictures in my mind are in English, as well as my dreams) <--- that is the key to know if you are dominant in one language or another.
And yes your footedness comment is correct. My best friend does everything with his right hand, but in elementary school when we played kickball or just messing around doing whatever he would line up and kick with his left foot. |

I voted ambi, although few people are truly ambidexterous. Doing some things with one dominance and doing others with the other isn't ambidexterousness. Doing the same thing equally with either hand would fit the bill. I am a high school baseball coach and throw batting practice with both arms.

who was the guy who picked neither??
how can you be neither, your either left, right or ambi. [ QUOTE ] I would expect that the percentage of poker players being left-handed would be greater than the total world population of lefties, which is around 12%. [/ QUOTE ] your not wrong. why did you think this??? [ QUOTE ] The spiral that forms the DNA chain that contains all of an individual’s genetic material turns clockwise. [/ QUOTE ] not sure what you meant to say here?? interesting though it is. is it that DNA is clockwise because nature (or God perhaps) is right handed?: 'For the left-handed person, the natural direction of rotation is counterclockwise; clockwise corresponds to the natural direction of rotation for right-handed people' the young and old devide i believe is to due to us lefties being drilled into doing things with our right hands in the old school teaching methods. this is just an assumption, but im quite interested in what the actual anwser is if im wrong. No way are there that many "ambidexterous" people. This would be a great time to get a post from "Small sample size man" [/ QUOTE ] No, I think people simply lie in polls. If an additional entry were, "I enjoy diphallic terata," many people would have selected that. There are funny examples in which the results of the polls show that either the poll is flawed or the people lied. How many heterosexual partners do men have versus women? Men report significantly more than women. However, since there are about as many men as women, and the total number of partners is the same for men and women, the average number should be the same. This becomes apparent in colleges with a distored gender ratio. Students of the minority gender have a lot more heterosexual sex with other students than the majority, whether there are more men or more women. The correct conclusion is that either men tend to overcount their partners and/or women tend to undercount them, or else a nonrepresentative sample was surveyed. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think the fact that the total number of partners is the same makes the average the same. If one guy sleeps with five girls, the total is the same but the average for guys is five and the average for girls is one. Brett |

What the hell is that green penis with legs you have as your avatar? [/ QUOTE ] It's a donkey-horse-dragon (dorgon) on ecstasy. Actually, I have no idea what it is, but I've seen it around other forums and I wanted it. It makes me smile when I look at it. |

Brett [/ QUOTE ] Your making the assumption that there are 5 times as many women as men here, when there are about the same amount. Say out of 5 guys, 1 sleeps with all 5 women, the other 4 get nothing. All 5 women sleep with the 1 guy. The average is still the same. |
