If I want to play the $5 +$.50 sit-n-gos, how much money should I have in my bankroll to start?
I usually only play one table at a time to improve my game. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

Generally it is accepted that 30 buyins is enough, so with the $5.50 SnG's you should be ok with ~ $150.
A lot depends on personal preference, some people think 20 buyins is fine and others prefer the comfort of 50 buyins. I tried 30 buyins when I had $650 and tried to play the $20's. I placed 1st and 3rd the first 2 then lost the next 8 so it was quite a shock to my bankroll. I've decided from now on to play with a 50 buyin bankroll, just for my own piece of mind. Good luck |

I never had that kind of financial swing before with the $10's and it kind of freaked me out. It's nothing really, like you mentioned, but psychologically I wasn't ready for it. That's why I want a $1000 bankroll to play the $20's (I'm at $925 now). I don't want to redeposit money again and if I fall down to $750, I'm going to start playing the $10's again until I get it back up to $1000. |

The usual advice is anywhere between 30-50 buy ins.

At the $5 tables, I'd say that you should be fine with like $50 or so- they're such a joke that a player who's IQ is a little higher than his shoe size should do fine and not have to worry about a huge drop.

if you are single tabling I wouldn't play less than 20, less because there should be less variance, less mistakes.
now i'm considering this question, I'm ready to move up as a multi player, I'm trying to decide whether or do 30,40,50 buyins... |

[/ QUOTE ] I recently started 3 tabling $5+.50s and deposited 300 to start (~50 buy ins). I just liked the way it looked. fortunetly, I was never below $300; and after my first 100 it is $590, so i think i will be going to the 10s after i increase my sample size to 500 (assuming i dont lose it all, lol). |
