General Bankroll Question

If I want to play the $5 +$.50 sit-n-gos, how much money should I have in my bankroll to start?

I usually only play one table at a time to improve my game.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: General Bankroll Question

Generally it is accepted that 30 buyins is enough, so with the $5.50 SnG's you should be ok with ~ $150.

A lot depends on personal preference, some people think 20 buyins is fine and others prefer the comfort of 50 buyins.

I tried 30 buyins when I had $650 and tried to play the $20's. I placed 1st and 3rd the first 2 then lost the next 8 so it was quite a shock to my bankroll. I've decided from now on to play with a 50 buyin bankroll, just for my own piece of mind.

Good luck

Re: General Bankroll Question

The usual advice is anywhere between 30-50 buy ins.

At the $5 tables, I'd say that you should be fine with like $50 or so- they're such a joke that a player who's IQ is a little higher than his shoe size should do fine and not have to worry about a huge drop.

Re: General Bankroll Question

if you are single tabling I wouldn't play less than 20, less because there should be less variance, less mistakes.

now i'm considering this question, I'm ready to move up as a multi player, I'm trying to decide whether or do 30,40,50 buyins...

I'm sorry, but nine buy-ins is not always going to be enough, even for the greatest player in the world.

If you never want to buy back into site, you need 50 buy ins.

Re: General Bankroll Question

Whats the difference between 30 buyins, or....
10 buyins, and if you bust, 10 more buyins, and if you bust that, 10 more buyins, and if you bust that, retirement?
