Re: $55- tough trips situation
A very bad player is going to push because he's excited he has trips. A solid player will push with a draw or a Q, figuring he can get you to fold a similar hand. A very solid player will push trips to charge you if you're drawing.
So it's entirely dependant on what you think of him, and what he thinks of you. In general I call. It's far more likely he's got a hand that he'd prefer not to see a showdown with than it is he's got the case jack or a boat. |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
wow, so many calls... what do u put oponent on? what cards would he play isn this manner? Does the min raise not scare anyone? I AM TERRIFIED OF MINRAISES!
Is it too weak of me to fold on turn after giving away initiative? |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
Actually, after reevaluating, the minraise could be interpreted as just a high queen that is trying to get the drawing hands out, but he doesn't want to get too involved in case you have the jack. He wants to see what you'll do.

[/ QUOTE ] Considering the way you played this hand, wouldn't AQ/KQ play this hand the same way, pushing on the turn because they fear you're on the flush draw? Here's the point, villain generally pushes here because he's trying to protect his hand. YOU HAVE THE MONSTER. Our villain's hand certainly is not QJ (full house) because he would want his opponent to draw to the flush, and hopefully pay him off. I certainly think this hand is AQ the way you played it. |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
There's no way he has a jack or a boat here, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see something like AA, people just love to limp it and then play it like it's still the nuts on flops like this.
Hell I see it with QQ, which then goes broke on a dry flop to the BB's spiked two pair etc. I would call, and feel good about it, if I get it wrong, oh well. Usually you'll be well ahead here, trust me. |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
At my level this is almost always a Q, so I call. But don't know what it means in a 55. I like a call though.
