Re: TPTK in a huge pot, how to protect my hand?
Looks pretty good to me.
Especially since MP only called your turn bet, but that's being results oriented. I probably would have check/called the turn. If the turn got checked through, I would have bet/called the river. |

Re: TPTK in a huge pot, how to protect my hand?
I would have played preflop just the same, but it sure looks like at least one villain has an overpair to me.
On the flop, I'd check, planning to raise one back to me and fold two back to me. If I'm only called on the flop, I'll lead the turn but probably fold to a raise. If I'm only called on the turn, I'll bet/call the river. |

Re: TPTK in a huge pot, how to protect my hand?
I think it's borderline folding/calling the cap preflop. If it were me playing, in the heat of it, I would most likely call too, but when I went back to look at the hand I would be thinking "Oh, maybe I should have folded that PF to that action"
That said, I don't think you really can protect your hand. The pot is too big and it seems certain that you're going to get called down, even a C/R. Because of that -- and knowing that you're most certainly going to get action behind you on the flop -- I would consider check-calling the flop here. I think there's a decent chance, given the betting so far, that one of the two PF raisers has an overpair and I don't think you can look at leading out on the flop as a value bet. One you hit the flush re-draw on the turn, though, I think you are right to bet out. If MP1 is chasing overs or worried that YOU have an overpair, your betting will scare him. On the river, I would check-call. You're definitely not getting him to fold here and it seems pretty unlikely that he just holding two unpaired overs. I would much rather be able to close the betting by check-calling than have to make the crying call to his raise on the river. I guess the bottom line is that I would think it quite possible that we're behind this whole hand. On the turn we've got decent pot equity -- the aces and tens are most likely outs as well as the completing the flush -- but we're still drawing. Given the other players' stats/your reads, I don't think we're folding this once we have TPTK, but I would probably try to minimize the amount I'm throwing in there. n.b. - just having my first cup of coffee and I'm not sure how clearly I'm thinking yet. Re: TPTK in a huge pot, how to protect my hand?
hi
pf- is ok post flop, i'd think that MP1 is going to showdown and obviously so is CO - we have TPTK, but clearly we are vulnerable to overcards and we're also OOP. i just don't think we can protect top pair here against a LAG and a non-threatening board. I think I'd just call it down. I think leading the turn is bad. But I suck at playing LAGs like this, especially on paper. |

I don't think I lead this flop with a pre-flop 3-bettor and a capper.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think I'm folding. Even if we are behind to an overpair on this flop. I'm giving myself ~5.5 outs (1.5 nut BDFD, 2 tens, 2 As - discounted slightly incase someone has AA). With a bet and raise in front of me, I would be getting at least 19.5:2 on my call. I have the odds to continue. I'm definitely not folding the turn. I have at least 13 outs at that point once I picked up the nut flush draw. |
