S.O.S. BEGINNER NEEDS HELP

im reading these posts and there are all sorts of different terms like EV and HERO and [censored] like that ... im really lost and im a new player .... are there books that can help me or what ..... i know how to play hold em and on a scale of 1 - 10 im about a 3 but this technical stuff is making my head spin ... can someone please give me help and advice
