Spacemonkey,
nice work, you really have got a nice set here. i really like the border around the owl for the non-denomination chip. i think that the greek number is the way to go (the right hand chips). it completes the theme and looks great. cheers, the Real Macoy |

Without a doubt, it has to be the Greek font for the denominations... and it's not even close :P
The owl doesn't have a $0.25 or $0.50 denom? I really like the faded image with the denomination over it- nicely done The one image that doesn't seem to "fit" is the statue head- can't it be stylized like the others were? Also, should the owl be darker? On a side note, all of you people with your great designs are driving me crazy! I'm going to have to do labels... |

Very nice, I prefer the non-denom version.. but if your going with the denoms then I prefer the greek font.
Great job. |

I'm sure you're all tired of it... [/ QUOTE ] I don't think this is possible in this forum I think the greek font numbers go better with the theme, also. What about making the text on the denom number side say something more personal? That way you have the text denoms on the figure side and just numbers (not duplicated with text) on the faded/overlay side... just a thought... could use your family names in greek (yours, wife's maiden (if applicable), mothers maiden etc...) or anctient greek cities or your home town or poker or a short greek saying (e.g. yamos, is that right? or such)... or something I'm sure much more personal/clever. - Fins |

Thanks guys. Greek font it is.
On a side note, I was asked today by the graphic designer for my photoshop file. I'm really hesisitant for several reasons: The shadowed images on the denomination side are not a consistant color level; I don't know the "right/perfect" size for the center graphics; and the font size and arch of the lettering on the top of the chips is a total hack job, just for looks (nothing consistant about them either). Any suggestions for how to proceed? On a color note, does anyone think I have too much orange tones in my last three chips? Purple/Arc Yellow, Orange/Blue, Chocolate/Day Glow Peach. And to answer some questions: The owl is a non-denomination, and will be used as 25¢, 50¢ or $2 depending on the cash game. Plus this way I get to use the Greek Key scroll. You're right about Zeus. I couldn't find a good black/white drawing that I liked. It does stand out, but I was thinking that's okay since it is Zeus, and it is the $5000 chip. Plus now I'm starting to get a little ansy about finalizing my order, as I started this process the beginning of January. I'm still hoping I get my chips before Memorial Day, but I know it's a slim chance now. Spooky: I am going with the denominations on one side and the full black/white graphic on the opposite side. Technically the greek text is the denominations written out, so they are on both sides. And Fins, that's a good idea for a slogan or something else on the denomination side. I'd just have to come up with something good. But I think I've used up all my creativity for the month already. That's part of the reason I spelled out the denominations in the first place. I wanted Greek text, but couldn't come up with something. And I didn't want to use my name, or "card room" or something like that. But with this layout, I should take advantage of it. We'll see. |

There are some whizzes in this forum - maybe someone would help you out for a sample set? If you post your graphics I'll mess with it but I don't know what font your are using not to mention I'm far from skilled . [ QUOTE ] On a color note, does anyone think I have too much orange tones in my last three chips? Purple/Arc Yellow, Orange/Blue, Chocolate/Day Glow Peach. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe, I see your concern. I think I'm not crazy about the choc. chip being the $5000. I was wondering if DG-pink body w/ red spots (like an inverse of Dre0000's on TH-P) would look good but I don't know how "brittle" the DG colors are when used as a body color. I like the yellow for $5000 but then I'm not sure I like a choc. non-denom though it might get the similar color chips away from each other. Also, you're probably sick of thinking about colors but purple might look good on the orange in place of blu... just thought I'd throw it out. [ QUOTE ] It does stand out, but I was thinking that's okay since it is Zeus, and it is the $5000 chip. [/ QUOTE ] He may have been refering to the fact that the Zeus' silhouette doesn't really look like Zeus or even a head for that matter... but I don't know. [ QUOTE ] But I think I've used up all my creativity for the month already. [/ QUOTE ] LOL... been there... pretty draining... it'll all be worthwhile... the sad part is once you get the design set it's breakdown time... what to do Good luck & enjoy (or try ) the process, Fins |
