I say use the same blue so all four spots are the same. That way we still have a progression of the spots.

Excellent. This is exactly what I was hoping you guys would say.

Ready for a count?

Regarding payment, maybe we can just pay Dennis directly and avoid the whole escrow thing.

Also, minor issues, but I assume we wont be able to get more of these later unless we order another 5000? Plus, can others call in and get the same design? Or can we limit this color combo for security?

I think you're right regarding a re-order. If someone were to pick them up 'on spec' then maybe.

Since we're using their stock inlay, I think we'd have a hard time trying for any security measures on the chip. If we had our own inlay, copyright (to the extent that it had protected expression), trademark law (if someone sold these chips under a particular mark), and perhaps even an agreement not to dupe the same set (with our inlay) might team up with common sense to prevent dupes. Note: we could not lock up the color combos just the inlay.

Those are some of my thoughts...

These aren't going to be 'high security' chips.

If that's what you want, think about dropping $750 on a custom inlay set (stock or no edge spots )...

Are you guys really concerned about having someone go out and have chips made, at a minimum order of 5,000, just to bring some into your game?? I mean, how high stakes do you play?? I will only use anything $100+ for tournaments, so it would hardly be worth anyone's effort in my case. But if you want, I will ask Dennis if there is some simple way we could modify the inlay for security w/o incurring an art fee...

And yes, we are ready to start getting official orders. As for the financials, Dennis said it would be okay for the payments to come from multiple sources, as long as they add up to 50% up front. I am not yet sure when the balance will be due...I will start a new thread soon for "official" interest.

Out of curiosity, what type of artwork charge do they have for custom inlays when ordering 5000+?

It would depend on the inlay. He does 2 or 3 color, or full color. You would probably have to call him for a quote.

Not a huge concern, just don't want Dennis making a few extra 1000 to sell for .85 - $1 each. If he can change something simple w/o a charge, that would be great.

I thought of a simple change we could make - get rid of the period after "Nevada".

I don't want a quote, I was just curious.. I assumed that since you guys are getting a 'group buy' together that you would have looked into this.

Maybe i'm missing something, but the site says $0.75/chip with custom 2 color inlay, and you guys are paying $0.85/chip with a stock inlay?

The stock chips are $.90 each (is there a minimum quantity for these?), so I assume he is giving you a price break on quantity, and then charging extra for edgespot customization?

Seems kinds strange to me...
