You raised preflop and have been driving all along. Now he bets into you on the river. When you raise, what hand calls the raise that you can beat?

45, 34, AK. I'm not saying those hands are more likely than a flush, or even enough to warrent the raise, but they will show up.

I don't think hands like that will play the entire hand like this opponent did often enough for the river raise to be +EV.

Remember, the raise is only correct if you will win more than half the time you're called.

I raised this because it was backdoor 3-flush that showed up. It wasn't there on the flop. FWIW I get bet into like this all the time on the river when the guy has crap.

Kurn, another part of the reason I raised was that I thought one or two of the opponents behind me might cold-call. Does this make it possibly more +EV?

I know they'll bet into you with crap. That's why you call. How often will a bluff call a raise?

The opponents left to act behind you make it less likely that the bet's a bluff. What do you do if you're reraised?

I didn't really mean that I thought it was a stone bluff. By crap I meant a weak 2-pair or maybe just a pair of Queens.

Please read Lee Jones book on low limit holdem. The raise on the river is awful. MP1 has been a calling station the whole way and then he bets into you on the river with 3 to a flush on the board. A $4 bluff on the river rarely works so why would your opponent throw his money away? Just call and pray.
