This is not a middle; it's a hedge.
Middles are attempts to take advantage of a disparity in the line between two 'books; there is no such disparity here.
Any new bet you make is seperate and totally independent from the [open portion] of your teaser.
Do you think Seattle is a good value laying 4.5 ?
- If you do, lay it.
Ditto if you like them laying [approx.] 225 on the $ line.
- If you see value lay it.

Hey - maybe you think either (or both) NYG plus 4.5 or plus 200 on the $ line is/are a good play(s).
If you do - bet it.

Hedging is a personal decision that is typically done to lock in a [smaller] win when the amount of money at stake is outside your comfort level and when done for this reason does not need to be +EV.
- Life insurance - whole or term - is a horrendous bet but I take no quarrel with anyone who has some. (I do)
