Re: Standard Push?
I'm not quite clear as to why it's riskier to raise 3x rather than all-in. Just commit to calling a re-raise. If he's slow-playing a big hand, you're dead either way. If he's trying to big-league you...

Re: $22s, good bubble push?
I think raising is definitely the play. A full pot bet is usually an indicator of weakness in the 22s. You'll usually see a raiser who hits the flop (or has an overpair) bet more in the 2/3ish range....

Re: 1st hand - Flop decision with AK
[ QUOTE ]
Good discussion guys.
One point nobody mentioned yet is the presence of the 2 players behind me. I guess that doesn't change the situation much in this case, but what about when the flop...

Because the chance that he folds now is greater than the chance he won't shove the rest of it on any turn with Ax.

That's an argument AGAINST pushing, right?

Re: Loose call?
I say push. You don't want to fold QQ to JJ on an Axx flop, and you don't want to let AK get away on a numbered flop. If you're beat, so be it. Can't put him on AA or KK with that big a raise.

Re: 1st hand - Flop decision with AK
I call. Only card that completes a draw is a 10. If he's bluffing, let him try it again on the turn. If he has a weaker ace, let him "protect" it again on the turn. If you're beat, you're broke in...

Re: Steps: Are they worth trying?

You are good enough to beat the higher levels, but then the smaller levels are -EV becasue you should be playing at a higher limit.

EV is not a function of time. If you...

19 card counter

I will NEVER understand card-counters. I did it for a few months in my vagabond years. Sure, it's a way to make a living. But that's it. It's a REAL JOB....

Re: 8 vs. 12 Tabling
I really think this subject comes down to the love of the game. If you are really skilled at poker, then you certainly can make a living at the game. If you love it, then by all means, do it. Enjoy...
