Explaining the rules on TV
When do you think poker will reach the point where they don't explain the betting structure and rules of NLHE every episode of every show? I can't remember the last time I turned into Sunday Night...

Re: Playing a profitable Image
Yes this is a good question. Personally... I think this is a situation where calling is the best option. I'm interested in hearing others opinions on this as well... as this is a weaker point in my...

Re: Playing a profitable Image
I think your line is fine.
Opponents that think you're betting with some garbage will often fire the river as an attempt to value bet a marginal hand if they think you're not going to continue...

Re: Me the suckout king
Preflop raise is fine.
Flop bet is fine.
Turn bet is fine if that's your style and know the opponent. A check is fine too.
I personally like raising a nice amount here. I don't think...

Re: folde AA on flop to (i find out later) a LAG
Well, first things first. I'm confused about the hand history. It says UTG, MP, Button call $2, and you raise to $4, then everyone calls $3. I'm confused as to how everyone is calling $3 here and...

Re: open-limping in MP to LP?
I personally disagree with the mentality that a lot of people use which is to never open limp in any game from MP or LP. Especially in NL games with deep stacks relative to the blinds I like to see...

Re: whats the stupidest thing you gamble on?
In college my roommate and I would pick a matchup in NCAA Football 2004 and let the computer play the game out (yes, you can actually watch). We'd come up with a line and o/u and sit and watch the...

Re: 2-5 live from last night
What you didn't really mention though is how likely it is you're going to be able to get some extra money in a sidepot with MP. You're investing an extra $20 to possibly win $165 and I would guess...

intermediate blackjack book?
I'm looking for a solid book on blackjack strategy. I know basic strategies and I have the ability to do simple counts... so I don't need a book for people who don't know how to play, but I would...

It's been a long time since I tackled a probability question, but I think this is how you want to do it:
It'll be easier to figure out what the probability is that nobody has an ace, and then...

Re: Preflop allin decision?
I would muck. There likely aren't many hands you're ahead of here, and there are still too many players to act behind you that could wake up with a nice hand. You're sitting in a good position in...

Nobody said you're stupid. People are answering your question saying they would call, because calling here is absolutely the correct play.

Yeah I call here. Getting 7-5 and its tough to say where you stand here. You could be way ahead but not much worse than 2-1 behind. Calling is especially attractive given what you've said about...

Re: Hypothetical situation
I would call every time here. You're a 2-1 (or very close to it) favorite and that's just too big to pass up, even this early. (Note that I might not call if I didn't know what my opponent had)

Re: Help settle this argument...
I actually think cha59 brings up a very valid point here. Calling or folding in this situation depends on how you feel your skill level is compared to the rest of the field. If you feel its not...

Re: AK with King on flop
Ah yes, misread. Sorry about that. I read the turn as a 2, not an 8... so I actually meant K8... which makes 2 pair on the turn slightly more likely with a K8/87/T8. I still, however, don't like...

Re: AK with King on flop
I like the flop bet; I think its the right size.
On the turn it appears the pot is more like 63. A bet of 15 here can mean a ton of different things. . . depending on how tricky the player is. I...

Re: 5/10 Party....Folding 10, 10 Preflop
I agree, calling here with JJ and lower here is a bad play, especially given the description of the other 2 players. Even queens in this spot need to proceed with caution.
