Slow playing trips is fine when it's just 3 handed (and only two of you in the pot). I wouldn't really be too worried about the flush unless there were 4 clubs on the board.

I think you should of re-raised on the flop to find out where you stand in the hand. By calling the hand down, you have no idea where you are at.

He had second pair and no real draws on the flop....

You'll spend close to $300 on materials alone if you build your own table, plus about 8 hours of labor. It was well worth if for me, because there is no way in hell I would play on a cheap ass table...
