Re: Late Stages, Foxwoods Tuesday Night Tourney

Given that it's a tight table - I think you push. If you are called I think you'll be a dog, but a bad ace should fold this (Does KQ call? - maybe in BB). You are 6 handed and likely to have the...

Re: Question for forum - a hand from a live multi-table

I don't thin it's as simple as set value to win, there is a chance 99 could be good.

I can envision a scenario whereby you only have 2 overs to dodge with the aces almost canceled out.

First...

Re: 10-8s on the button

I'm not crazy about the river bet. What do you do if reraised? I think it's extremely unlikely that he calls with a worse hand, and more unlikely that he lays down a better hand. I like the flop...

Re: Thanks All

You asked for it you got it:

you should have waited for a better spot.

I don't think this was the right situation to call an all in w/ AK (same stack size - raise too big to be a steal > 10 X...

Re: Final 4, holding Ace King facing an all in from the big stack.

This is realy a great discussion. I know the consensus is "easy call", but this guy had the "stones" to put you all in. You think he has AJ? (I wasn't "there", so my read is only from actions in a...

Re: Please help me extract more money

Maybe it's simplistic of me, but I'm checking behind. You have position on the SB - your "post oak" bet will look more like a steal attempt on the turn (assuming 2 more checks), and could invite...

Re: please respond the part 3

on the flop, you can legitimately bet 2k - a good portion of the side pot.

after a check check flop - I would bet the turn. Now you have a draw and need to protect against the flush draw. If...

Re: fold tt to preflop raise and call?

Looks like you're multiway, not a big portion of your stack. Why not look for set value or take it down on the flop if no overs?

Re: AJs UTG+1, 8 handed late in tourney

I like a continuation bet of about 6K there. 1/3 of his remaining stack. You can still get away, and see another card if he just calls. By letting him take the lead, you gave up any chance of...

Re: push?

the last 3 times I was deep into tourneys I was eliminated with 1010- ak, aj and a8s (he flopped nut flush!)

I like the stop n go, and would only lead out if there's 1 overcard to my 10's

an...

A vote for the stop n go

I like the stop and go here; you only want to push if you're first in. With sngo, you'll have 12500 left after calling and make a 3000 bet on any flop without an A or two painted cards. If he comes...

Re: 640 NL tourney on Party hand

I wouldn't push K-10 UTG; i don't think u have too much FE anyway.

In a live (2 table) tourney, I waited and waited and there was no good spit until finally I had less that 2 BB and got the 'boys....

Re: Switching to MTT.

PokerRoom has rolling $5, $10 and $20 MTT's every 15 min (150 to 400 players usually) and a good structure. No antes rewards the patient player. Your monsters early will usually get paid off.

Re: Has anyone ever pressed the self destruct button as bad as this?

To add to that point, I think it's a better play to make with a worse hand!

A7o - you are likely dominated if he has a real hand, which he did. Far better to push w/ 2-5 (or low suited connector...

Re: How was my play here?

You're on an all in stack, and will not be able to steal blinds anyway, so the gap concept is not as large a factor. 10's are the best hand you're gonna see, so I thing it's an easy push and cross...

Re: Lay down QQ here?

That second all in caller raises the red flag. It's never easy to fold QQ in a $10 sng, but I would in the face of an all in caller who acts before me. In effect, it's two players going over the...

Re: Decent Hand from UTG or Junk Hand from Button: Shortstacked?

if it's close to a full table, id push the J2. I don't want to be dominated; i know I'm getting called. Q-10 under the gun? it doesn't get much worse in a 5+ handed game IMHO

Re: Holding KK, three-flush (no draw) on flop -- call all-in?

I'd fold it. You could argue that there's no way he'd bet out on the flush, and that he likely holds the A for the 4 flush. But without a read on the player, and the reverse psychology game theory...

Re: 2-Table SNG: Who Makes This Call?

If your point is that his call was incorrect, well duh. You should welcome those calls and shrug it off. Next 2 times you double up. No way I make that call.

Re: My SNG dilemma

You've got to go with your instincts. If you can be first in the pot with a small pocket pair or low suited connectors or KJ, Go with it. I would not raise a limper with A-9, and would only push on...

Re: Results and Thoughts

In this game, you have to go with your gut more than anything. It does take restraint to get away from the boys. It is a relatively high stakes game, and those min rr are very fishy. I might do...
