Re: Would a flop call be too loose here?

agree. you don't need 11:1 to call 1 bet on the flop with a gutshot. You need much less than that.

Re: Would a flop call be too loose here?

[ QUOTE ]

FLOP: Worth a small bet to see one more card. Gutshot outs are a little weak as your on the low end of the 678 it would put on board. I'll count the gutshot outs as a generous 3, the...

Re: Would a flop call be too loose here?

If you flop a gutshot you are 5:1 dog to complete the straight by the river.
This is the way i compute it:

1) You can make the straight on the turn with probability: 4/47
2) You can make the...

If I raise 99 and get 5 cold callers, I'm still ok, because if it's the 1 in 8 times that I hit my set, I'm likely to be paid off big time.

Re: How would you play this one?

[ QUOTE ]

In the future, stop the action where you have the question. The fact that villain doesn't raise the river could skew responses.

[/ QUOTE ]

oh ok. I'll do that next time. Thanks!

Re: Bet or Check the flop?

Thanks. A flop bet would be either to steal the pot or in the hope i would get the river card for free ( i had position so i could've tried that play, i guess)

Re: Bet or Check the flop?

You are right, fold PF. But given my PF play, should i bet trying to steal the pot right there or see the turn card for free?

thanks for the reply. Why the 2 one-gap BDSDs worth 1 out? Is it because they can still be beaten by a flush?

How many outs in this situation?

Hero; 8d 7d
Flop: Th 7c 5c

SSHE (p.148) says about 5. How do you discount the sevens and eights? and the two one-gaps BDSDs should be equal to 2 or less? Thanks!
