Re: JJ UTG first hand

JJ is not a hand to go all in with on the first hand. I would raise to 60 or just limp. My goal is to manage the amount of money going in preflop. Getting a third of your stack in, even heads up,...

Re: 20+2 hand for evaluation

That's why I wished I didn't post the result. Would you have done the same (regardless of results)?

Results

Get called. I lose to KQo after a Q falls on the turn.

Preflop: I min raise, instead of limping so I have a chance at stealing the blinds.

On the flop: I think I have the best hand throughout....

20+2 hand for evaluation

10/20 blinds in a $20+2 (the prize pool is increase by close to 40% by the site). Won a small pot with QQ and this is the second hand I've played. I am dealt AsKs in middle position. I have 1570,...

biting the hands that feed you

HAHA, great post. This is the funniest thing I have read in a while. That passage from TPFAP jumped out at me too.

Re: somebody who plays worse than I do???

I agree. ONE warning. After that, I look shamelessly.

river?

I don't think these sorts of image plays have as much value on line. It's fun to go crazy though.

I call the river (no matter what came) after that much money wnet in. I think I make a large...

Insanity

PokerBabe, I have a lot of respect for your play, but I don't understand this post. You have a overpair, heads-up, with position against a "tourist". I think it is a clear 3-bet. I wouldn't think...

Re: Break on through to the otherside

Why would you call the turn? There are 3 people left to act behind you. You are paying about 15% of the pot for a chance to make a hand that is often going to be the loser. I'd want to check even if...

Re: Mirage 20-40: Strange pre-flop situation

Fold and I don't think it's close. If UTG+1 is at all a reasonable player, his hand is at least as good as UTG's and you'll have to play the hand out of position. I fold even if there's a good chance...

Re: Strange problem at the Mirage

The hand is null and void. All money is returned to the players. I am one for sticking with the letter of the law not the spirit. I realize this encourages angle shooting, but it's more important...

Misquote

I agree with checssforlife. You must put put him in at this point. Your hand will be good often enough.

BTW - the quote is, "God does not play dice with the universe".

Re: 1/2 pl O8 crosspost

My experience in PLO8 is very limited, so I am curious of your rationale for just calling the flop? Were you waiting to see how the board developed, waiting to see the action of the sandwiched...

Re: Stupid question

$30/$60. Solid player limps UTG and I raise 2UTG with AJs.

You lost me there. What is the point of this raise?

Re: all-in with a draw (5-5 PLH)

The blinds are $5 and $5. All the limpers put in $5, and he just checked.

Re: 99 NLHE hand, weak-tight, yes?

Pre-flop, I like the way you played the hand. With your call and $100 stacks you leave yourself room to maneuver.

I don't play the flop the same way as you, but that might be style specific. I can...

Re: Why am I tilting now?

You just have to quit when you feel like that. You will learn to take your beats eventually, but until then just quit. Don't throw away money. They micro games will always be good, come back some...

I disagree

elysium, in my experience, middle pair will not fold often to warrant a bet. I'm a big fan of thin betting the river for value, but not in this circumstance.

Re: 5-5 PLH hand at the woods

I'm obligated to call a bet now anyway, so I put in my last $300.

Through trial and error, I've learned this is the wrong logic. I'm interested in seeing what other people think. In first...

Re: 77 on the button

Decent bad player openraises. You reraise on the button with 77.

Why? I've seen you post many threads about re-raising single raisers preflop with a marginal pair on the button and can't figure...
