Re: AK got run over
I keep a small notepad.exe document with some simple things to remind myself of when playing. I added the following to that list yesterday:
Do NOT call large raises with only one pair.

Yup, I saw you guys taking shots... I think I sat directly to the right of a guy in your group on Friday at 1/2, blonde hair, beard, glasses. Nice chap. The nice older gentleman next to me on...

Borg 1/2 anyone?
Just wanted to know if anyone on here was at the Borgata this weekend at 1/2 NL. Friday and Saturday I sat at the second table on the right just as you walk into the room. Saturday I played 18 hours...

A2 flops the wheel
Late position 1/2 NL at the Borg. Just say the stacks are 200 each. Hero limps near the button with A2s. Every one of those limps could be anything, the table is real loose at 2 AM. Flop is 345...

At the table this weekend some guy said he would never play online poker because of the chance of collusion, but he loved to play blackjack online. Funny part was, another guy agreed with him...

You know, maybe I was mis-remembering. I do clearly remember the $300 max, but I thought the big was $3... No more drugs for THAT man!

Borgata 1/2 or 1/3
Last time I was there, the NL game was 1/3 with 300 max. Is the small NL game 1/2 now with 200 max? Search was fruitless...

Re: JJ weak line - help needed
Someone else said it best: don't be afraid to lose.
In any case, you never got a feel for the flavor of COs hand. On the button, you should raise preflop here about 80% of the time. At least...

Re: top set on scary board (50NL 6 max)
I like your play, including the PSB. If he had a flush, he would probably just extract, by calling your bet. You could put him on 67 for the str8, and trying to take the pot off this scary board. ...

Now that we're finished with what you should have done, what should villian have done to win this hand? We know that K8s is horrible, but was his call on the flop so bad with tp and flush draw?

Re: JJ flops overpair against an overbet and call
Really an easy fold? I have similar stats to UTG, and would play AK-AJ the exact same way, with a continuation bet on the flop with the assumption that I still have the best hand. Button has a ten...

How on earth can limping a suited gapper first in in the CO be better than raising?

EDIT: one more thing. I think the fact that I had folded three orbits in the row should make me more likely to raise a hand like this pre-flop since my tight image should make them put...

Re: Allin push from maniac...Call with QQ?
I think that a fold like that is more satisfying than any other play in poker. More exciting because I might not ever be able to make the same move.
But I did fold JJ once preflop to a re-raise...

Re: Unorthodox move in a live game
Unorthodox, but it's a tough hand to play. Why not make a standard raise to get rid of Ax and KJ, and go from there? Caveat: I'm weak-tight live.
It seems that this kind of raise might just get...
