Re: Luckbox on full power
I think it's sort of moot on this hand. He played like he was scared of the flush (never mind the royal) from the get-go, so you've got to figure that he doesn't have the flush. Any action from...

Limit and NL and back again

Just curious if other limit-to-NL converts had any thoughts about keeping limit skills sharp while learning NL?...

Re: Pot Committed is a highly overrated concept.
I actually am not sure that any of these are exactly what is meant by pot committed.
My sense is that pot committed means that so much of your stack has gone into the pot that you simply can't...

Re: Question about post flop experts.
Just a thought, but remember that in televised poker you are seeing a small percentage of total hands played. Because of this, it's easy to get a skewed perception of how people *really* play. For...

that chart is for loose, low-limit B&M games, 6-8 players to the flop (SSH pages 82-83). that is TOO loose and aggressive for even 50c/$1 games online (excluding Pacific Poker).

I have a set of 500 faux clays and love them.
I agree that they come up a little short in the looks department, but aside from that they are great. They shuffle quite well and they feel/sound a...

Trip Report: The Poker Room - Jacksonville, FL
I'm down in Jax from NY for a week-long vacation and I heard about The Poker Room (http://www.jaxkennel.com), which is only about 20 minutes from where I'm staying. I figured I'd give it a shot.

Re: Joined New Home Game...Advice Needed
Welcome to the forums.
A couple other guys recommended SSHE -- a great book, to be sure, but it is for LIMIT play, not no-limit.
I would HIGHLY recommend Ed Miller's GETTING STARTED IN HOLD'EM...

Re: TPNK in large pot
Grunching.
This is the problem with low suited aces: when you pair the ace and miss the flush, you've got hard decisions to make.

Re: Is this just bad luck?
You'll hear this from other people, but WLLH, though not a bad beginner's book at all, will tend to make you weak-tight. If you can, you might want to take it back and pick up GSIH instead. It's...

Re: AK too much action
Grunching
The only part of the line I really question is the call on the turn -- you now have a strong draw to the absolute nuts, plus TPTK. Your pot equity is definitely way better than average....
