what\'s the NLH action like at Borgata?
gonna be at the Borgata tomorrow (Sunday), looking to play some NLH
what do they have in the way of stakes? (I'd mostly be interested in 5/5 to 5/10 or so) what are the buy-ins for these games? ...

5/10 live turn decision, maybe boring
live 5/10 NLH; we were short-handed for an hour and I was lagging it up big-time, winning almost half the pots (most players in this game only know how to play full); we've been full for half an hour...

tricky multiway flop decision (live 5/10 NL)
The players:
SB (3k) is a very tough, loose-aggressive player. He's a good hand-reader and quite tricky.
MP (1.5k) is a bad LAG. He got stacked on a bad-beat about 5 hands earlier, so I...

Re: flopped the nuts with deep money (5/10 NL)
in general I agree, but I think there are a few factors here that making calling okay:
1) villain has demonstrated the ability to limp-reraise bluff
2) even against AA/KK hero probably has odds...

flopped the nuts with deep money (5/10 NL)
5/10 NL home game, 8-handed... game is generally loose-aggressive
UTG limps and villain limps UTG+1; 2 more limpers to hero who makes it 100 to go out of the SB with QQ; folded to villain who limp...

AK in three-handed 5/10 NL (live)
home-game
Button raises to 35 (he opens about 60% of the hands for this amount). I pop it to 125 in the SB with AKo, which I've done twice before tonight. Once I showed JJ after they both...

I pushed; TAG folded (said later he had AT), and LC called flipping up a bizarrely played AA; I missed.
Thanks for all the responses guys.

Re: flop decision, 5/10 NL
Seems like calling and pushing are both okay, although one should do the latter more often. One point though...
A few people have said it's raise or fold because your spade outs are not clean. ...

flop decision, 5/10 NL
5 limpers and SB completes, which is standard for this game, and I rap in the BB with 97 of spades
the flop comes Ts6s5x; I lead 50, a tight-aggressive (TAG) min-raises to 100, a loose canon (LC)...

Re: Set vs. flush draw
hmm, where to begin...
he doesn't need to his his gutshot on the river, he already has you beat
you're 3.4:1 to fill/quad, not 4.3:1
but that's the point, you don't have x-ray vision......

Re: NL$600-hand from last night
seems like a call to me...
villain bets half pot and you put in a faily small raise; villain probably puts you on something like a bluff (trying to move him off overcards), a club draw (trying to...

Re: Set vs. flush draw
I think the turn laydown is probably a mistake, although not a big one
it's 600 to you with 1675 in the pot, so you need to win 26.4% of the time for a call to be correct; here's your odds against...

pot: 105
flop: KxQh2h (I have no hearts)
they both check, i bet 50, and they...

max-pot size?
yeah, this entry in Negreanu's poker blog (link below) mentions a 4k/8k (limit) game with 100k capped pots... that just seems weird to me, especially capping the pot at only 12.5 big bets, given how...
