To me, that clearly justifies a push here.

Something just seems so wrong with this line of reasoning, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Wow SB is calling a raise with 56o in the worst position?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, and sadly he does the often.

Overall, I've determined that this was not a good call.

[ QUOTE ]
did you make this hand up? because the 7s is both in your pocket and also on the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

ah! that makes a big difference. It was Q6s, not Q7s.

Congrats on the suck out. Now please explain why you called a raise from an early position player w/ Q7suited. Did your "reads" on those players tell you one of them had a set? You...

Easy fold.

Also, I think you should have raised more on the flop after the small stack moves in. SB is already in for $5, and it would be hard to get him to fold for another $5. I'd...

Re: Any way to get away from this?

Don't know what I'd do here. I'd probably move-in every time at this limit, some people will call you with Ax and you'll get paid off.

But it's also a small "nothing" pot, so I might be hesitant...

At this point, thats not a horrible play by any means. I'm pretty surprised SB called with a gutshot and overcard, unless he felt his Ace high was good.

Re: Trouble with draws

The reason you'd go all in on a draw like this is:
a) the option that they'll fold, and
b) if they don't fold, you still have an open ended straight draw and a flush draw, with a chance to backdoor...

Re: When you flop a set should you fire a pot sized right away?

When I flop a set, I usually like to go Brunson and lead into the raiser, if he raises, I'll usually push. If I was the raiser and I'm in EP, I'd still pot-size bet it,. If they raised, I'd push. ...

Re: PP $25 NL hand for review

I used to win money about one out of every three or four games, however over the summer I have improved a lot, so I think probably $200-$250 will be good to start with.

the blinds are .50/.50 - so it's more than .25/.50, but still relatively low.
