Re: 50/100 3 handed
if they're already too aggressive, encouraging them to be more aggressive is +EV.
I would also disagree with this. Generally (there are always exceptions), when I come up against an aggro...

Re: 50/100 3 handed
I'd call down.
I know that's boring, but you get to avoid the whole "do I call the re-raise on the turn or not" thing, which feels terrible, AND you get to see his hand, which I really want to...

Re: Flopped set while defending BB
This flop presents too many opportunities for an aggressive opponent to overplay a weaker hand. I'd continue to raise the flop and hope he does just that.

he is no longer laggy by any means. against many buttons, ATo is showdown bound HU. against him, not so much...anymore.

He's still open raising from the button, though.

Re: HU AK Hand
I don't mind calling down unless the board becomes really gross (4 flushes and 4 card straights).
You can't fold these all the time. You can't call down all the time with a missed A-K either, so...

I decide to 3 bet if the SB folds and call planning to c/r the turn if the SB calls, the SB calls, so I just call.

Weird, I would do the opposite; I'd reraise if SB...

Re: Donkbet by a pro
Gotta raise, even if it may be what the BB wants you to do. The guys behind you, if they have some combination of pair + gutshot outs (like 9-J), you want them out.

Re: potentially boring hand
Oh, I should clarify.
The pause wasn't to decide if I should bet, it was to decide how I should respond to a check raise. I didn't feel like doing the whole call a raise because I have a half ass...

potentially boring hand
30-60 online 6 handed. I'm winning but I may appear aggro at this point.
I open raise 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif-9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif from the CO. SB, who seems unremarkable so far,...

Re: River play (crossposted)
You can bet for value here.
(I disagree that a better hand is folding here, though. You might get another A-K to fold, but a better hand didn't come this far to fold the river for one bet.)

Re: BB defense...this is ugly
You can't fold K-Jo to a late raise heads up when you are in the BB. If you fold in this spot routinely, you are getting run over in the blinds.
You also can't auto 3 bet with this hand like it's...

Re: a common situation i may be misplaying
As Deranged noted, You can raise preflop with this, as most 3-6 players will call you with worse hands. It may have made the hand much easier to play postflop.
Given that you didn't raise preflop,...

What's the point in drawing to a hand that you don't feel confident enough to raise when you hit it?
As others have noted, raise the turn.

Re: Finding out why I\'m hemmoraging chips
Probably not. AK is almost certainly more likely to bluff on this river when checked to than it is to call when bet into, in my opinion.
That's not true.
Letting this river get checked...

Re: JQ s hand , how`s my line?
I like everything except the turn raise. It's not a great semi-bluff spot, because MP's actions to this point indicate he'd like to show down a hand. However, with SB calling the raise cold it kinda...
