Re: I\'d all on 3rd
This structure doesn't warrant this. Even if you are good. No reason to gamble in this game.

Re: Interesting 20-40 hand to disect (big pot)
Analysis your hand.
Okay -- Here is my opinion. If the 4 seat player is very good and someone I respect, then I fold jacks here more often than not. I do this particularly because the 20-40 stud...

Re: 30/60 Stud hi hand
Got enough chips on the table Carlos? I think you need about 1K more to be intimidating. Tee hee.
Here are the assumptions I am making based on your calls and raises:
3rd - you do not believe...

Re: Straight Draw
Well it goes back to what you put your opponent on in the first place. looks kinda straight looks kinda flushy. If you are hell bent on seeing his hand, I guess you can do that. It's just not the...

Re: Fishy 4th Street raise?
I think the raise is okay. My concern would be how live is my flush vs. potential other flush draws on the table? Do I realy think I am the money favorite at that point? That's is why the raise is...

Re: Straight Draw
I think you are using this quote out of context. And, secondly there is no context for the raiser in the game or how the game was playing etc.
There are times when I make calls on the river too...

Re: $10/20 stud high fiasco
The part I hate most about your hand is the fact that your kicker is so low and its not suited. You are likely facing queens on 3rd with a higher kicker. if you can't fold on third comfortably then...

Re: Straight Draw
Your mistake as most mistakes begins on third street and compounds from there. You call a completed bet with j109 rainbow with two of your primary straight cards out (Q&8). you get lucky on fourth...

Re: Fishy 4th Street raise?
I don't mind the raise here based on the boards. The fours are pretty dead. You are possibly against two pair, However, almost everyone else likely has one pair so you are a good favorite. You don't...

Re: Poor etiquette?
I miss the commerce...actually this is pretty mild behavior for that venue and I don't think it's really all that out of line. He did in fact call you. You are the one who should be showing first. I...

Re: Part 2
Now, I thought of one other thing that Carlos may be capable of which is to reraise you with a pair with an ace or king kicker. Now he may just reraise you on fifth knowing that he is going to call...

Re: A question I think is important ??
No stud games to be found at the casino by my hotel. It was a rinky dink affair, with a holdem 2-4-8 game (blinds 1 and 2--with raise to 6 preflop.) Fleeced em for 205 in about 4 hours. It was very...

Re: Semi-Hijack. Apologies.
The reason why they don't have it is that this game breaks the bad players fast. The qualifier takes some of the edge away from the good players and evens the playing field a little more for the bad...

Re: Dear, Would You Save Me The Last Bet?
I am assuming you are playing the player, once you get it heads up. If the odds were that the player is likely to fold one pair on the river, then I think the play is fine. Not all bluffs work...they...

Re: Violating a Cardinal Rule (Stud High)
In a short-handed game I don't think the call is bad necessarily on 4th street as it most likely is in a ring game. My call would likely depend on the player and the fact that I am also building a...

Re: $30/$60 Stud high: Headsup with Carlos
This hand clearly stinks of aces or kings to me. He raises a completion on third and then smooth calls a reraises. Calls fourth and reraises on 5th with a crap board. Folding is not the worst thing...

Jeff,
I really enjoy your short 30-60 hands. Give me a little more information about the player. Have you played with him or her much? How were you playing during that particular session and how...
