Re: Flopped Q set, critique please
All the advice is appreciated. I'll have to read more and also play NL at lower levels. Dropping $31 on one hand didn't bankrupt me, but it was a shock. (I know, less than peanuts for many on this...

Re: Flopped Q set, critique please
Yes I did, (because limit is what I've been playing) and yes I did lose a lot of money. BB indeed had TJ and I took a beating. Got a LOT to learn.

Flopped Q set, critique please
I have been doing ok at limit HE, and this was in my first venture into NL with real money. SB, UTG are LAG, few hands with BB. Check-raise on river caught me by surprise. How was my play overall?...

Re: Why Can\'t I Move Up?
Why do you play poker? What are your goals? Starting with $100, over the past year I've built that to $400 slowly moved up from .05/.1 to .5/1 and 1/2. About four times I've ventured into 2/4. ...

Re: Maniacs, and more maniacs (low/no content)
That's the only thing that makes any sense to me. I figured that was probably what the first group was doing, since each and every pot was capped every street. I'm playing at levels appropriate to...

It was a foolish comment, but I was hoping he'd offer some remote explanation about agression being a good thing. (And I was actually starting to feel guilty taking his chips time after time...

Maniacs, and more maniacs (low/no content)
Two nights ago, Ultimate, 0.5/1, 6-max, I joined a table where three players were capping every hand pre-flop, and capping every street after the flop. It was an incredible thing to see. In theory...

Re: Playing against loose opponents
I'm also new to 6-max and got in a 1/2 game yesterday on Ultimate Bet with some true maniacs. Three players were VPIP of 80, 75, and 70 and almost every hand was being capped pre-flop. I was...

Re: AKs - River decision
Preflop is fine. Flop you have TPTK, but I call the button's raise instead of 3-betting. You have top pair, but only a pair, and someone could easily be on a straight draw and you know button plays...

Re: Believing in God
In a gambling forum this is the perfect place to apply Pascal's Wager. If you believe in god, and there is no god, nothing happens. If you believe in god, and there is a god, you go to heaven. If...

Re: Spewing with aces - when should i lay it down?
OK, I'm a novice and I've been losing my shirt by hanging on to AA, AK etc. to the bitter end, but I'm trying to learn to let go. I haven't read the other posts yet, but clearly the problem is what...

Re: Questions regarding Absolute Poker
This also raises questions for our hosts, Poker Source Online. How does this effect collecting PSO signup rewards? Clearly Absolute has changed their policy, what is PSO's response?

Re: Questions regarding Absolute Poker
They seem to have changed their policy sometime in the last couple of days. I was clearing a signup bonus at a nice clip, a raked hand was counted whenever the rake was .25 or more, whether or not I...

It's such an unexpected bet from someone who's been just calling post flop, that I am inclined to make the crying call here.
A raise from the flop raiser is more concerning IMO.

Are you really considering raising 2nd TPBK on this board?
You realize bottom pair may have made trips on the river right?
The options are either call or fold in my opinion, and I...
