Re: Poker Books
On the investing discussion, I'm going to throw my lot in with the just diversify crowd. Poker and investing are a lot like each other in that there are a few people at the top that take money from...

Re: Is this why I still play 10/20?
I know we have the 2nd nut flush here, but what cards do people think he has if he 3 bets your river raise? Beyond putting him on a desperate bluff I don't see how we win when we call this. He'd...

Re: PP10. 46s RIVER BLUFF
If he's the type to take a lot of hands to the river, I wouldn't try the steal with 64s here to start with. Most fish are likely to call when they should fold, not fold when they should call.

Re: T8o BB 7 handed (close enough!)
Why is it so bad to 3 bet the flop and then lead the turn or just do a stop n go?
I like the hand as it worked out, but typically I'm scared that a 14.5/7.9 player is going to take a free card on...

Re: Idiot str8... Do you call this down ?
Ignorant question, but what about the preflop 3 bet? He's raising 7% of his hands.. AA,KK,QQ,JJ,TT, AK,AQ,AJ,AT ..isn't that already over 7%??
You can be raising for a few reasons. Raise for...

Re: Blind vs. Blind semibluff turn raise
Why are you not just folding this on the flop and letting him have a crappy 2 SB pot. You've got overcards, but you hardly have any showdown value with J high. Your outs might not even be good if...

Re: 99 against TAG (?)
I'm not a big fan of a cap preflop. It obviously all depends on what his 3 betting standards are, if he's seen you trying to steal before, etc etc.
He's 3 betting you with any PP larger than 99,...

Re: 99 against TAG (?)
If he's willing to value bet the one pair despite an overcard, straight, and flush getting there then your check/call on the river is ok. I don't think this fits a 26/15 player though.
Is he...

Re: Wait till a safe flop here?
30% of the time you get undercards, 12.5% of the time you get trips and have a huge edge. The pot is already going to be so big on the flop there's no way you can protect so just 3 bet for value...

Re: SSHE Hand Quiz - Flop Play Q#10
I agree you probably have the best hand currently, but your opponents have tons of outs against you making your edge pretty small. I'm wondering if coupled with your very slight edge on the flop if...

SSHE Hand Quiz - Flop Play Q#10
I had a question about one of the hand quizzes and I was wondering if I could get some help.
For Question #10 on the flop play section in SSHE. Here's the question:
"Three players limp to you,...

Re: pimp my blinds
You can def raise anything you would play on the button here as SB can have a near random hand when he completes plus you have position for the rest of the hand.
Don't get carried away though.

I suppose if you can be sure that Villain will bluff again on the river then it makes sense to just...
