Re: a 99 hand
A concept that I often use, which I borrowed from playing sng's, is no set/overpair = no bet. Although you give up a tiny bit from time to time, I think that this is a fine situation to apply it. ...

Re: AK in the SB
[ QUOTE ]
Will your opponent call you with a hand that you beat? Will he fold a pair?
[/ QUOTE ]
Will he bluff if I check? Probably the most important question.

Re: Did I slow down too fast here?
sorry got my hearts and diamonds mixed up. I guess that's why I use a 4 color deck. In that case I think its close between 3 betting the turn and just calling.

Re: Did I slow down too fast here?
I likely 3-bet the turn here. Save 67, 23 and AA you have the best hand. With a crazy table that is on tilt I'd want to get as much money in on the turn as possible. Even if your opponent holds a...

Re: Weak river fold? (55 in CO)
I guess the question is what range of hands do you place the BB on after he calls your turn bet, and then bets into you? I think its an easy fold on the river, but I come from a NL background and am...

Check the turn...but since you didn't, fold to the raise.

I think you're right. It is close though. I'm getting 8:1 from the pot and will likely get 2 more bets when I...

Re: Turn Semi-Bluff at the Stone
Post flop I think your play is fine. With 6 players and a small pot I may just check the turn though, the semi-bluff may be fine, but I just can't see everyone folding here.
You have to raise the...

The lucky fish: AT butchered!
UTG+1 sat down last hand and posted immediately.
Preflop raise can't be good, can it?
I think I'd be much better to just take my freecard on the turn. Heads up I'd likely bet it.

Re: K7s in the SB
I agree with you on the river. Very bad play (checkraise) as it gets checked through way too much.
If I lead the flop whats my action if I'm raised? If I'm called?

Re: Pairs, pairs and more pairs!
[ QUOTE ]
I don't raise 99 in the SB. I surely don't cap with it PF.
[/ QUOTE ]
With 5 callers, why not? I'd think that more than 20% of the pot is mine. Am I wrong here?

Re: K7s in the SB
So bet the river, and of course I would call a raise. Right?
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my "novice" questions. I truly appreciate it.

For those of you who don't know me, I come from an SNG background. Pocket pairs are the cash cow of hands in sng's as you often get paid off by someones whole stack when you hit your set. Against...

Re: Set against 3 flush flop!
I don't quite understand why you wouldn't raise the turn. I'd imagine that you're frequently ahead here to an overpair held by the BB, and a big heart held by MP2.
What do others think about...

TT: Can I give up here?
I apologize for the no reads, as I'm still adjusting to life at the limit table. If anything I'd say that the table is generally passive. Lots of hands go unraised preflop with 4 or so limpers. Is...

I had to look impetus up. Once I did, though, I think it's a wonderful way to describe it.
