Re: AA, Raised on the Turn

Yeah - 3-bet the turn. because the board is more indicative of top pair tens than two pair or better.

hey guys, cmon...he coulda had 23, right....then the defense would have been appropriate /images/graemlins/tongue.gif . OK but seriously, why bother playing out of position against a nut with a...

Re: J2s in the BB

i fold preflop, and if not for the backdoor flush draw, the flop to. Then lead the turn, because you'll get more callers due to the position of the likely bettor and should be afraid of it getting...

Re: 66 in an MP

Re: KQs, top pair, big pot?

[ QUOTE ]
This is your game, your read, but it looks to me like you really overplayed this one.

Capping pre-flop seems excessive. If Villin isn't comatose he's not 3 betting an UTG raise with...

Re: Medium pot, call the river w/Q high?

That is a poor flop raise. Also, a call on the river would be terrible with Q high.

Re: Flush threat on turn, fairly common situation

TPTK is too strong to lay down in a multiway pot. I dont think you are calling toom uch on the river. It is possible he is raising with a big drawing hand on the turn, such as a pair and the K...

Re: QQ - proper wait to turn to raise or not?

I don't know if anybody else noticed this - but isn't this kind of in between the two examples from ssh on overpairs. Its different because you're out of position, but I think you have to push yuor...

Re: AK hand with a couple interesting decisions

This is the exact kind of pot small stakes hold'em by miller advocates calling down. Too big to fold TPTK on a board not all that scary.

Re: Different Line for AA

Congratulations that your line worked, but I'd probably just bet it though. You can probably get an overcall from a Q, making you 2 BB on the river. If you check-raise and its the last action who...

Re: river decision after 2 pair gets counterfeited

I like check calling here more than betting out. IMO the odds of him folding a better J are next to none. Instead, if you check call, you give him the opportunity to bluff with a missed straight...

Re: Good spot for a bluff? We don\'t talk about those much on here...

Not a good spot for a bluff, at all. Its standard check-fold from the flop on. Call me unimaginitve, but i'll call you chipspewing when you get called down by a J or a pocket pair.

Some perspective here:
With 88 in that situation, the difference in expectation between 3-betting, calling, and folding is very low for all 3 options.

Re: KQo...i thought it was interesting...

I dont like the river bet. its definately not a value bet, and i don't think you'll get him off many hands after you checked the turn behind him. I hope you were prepared to fold the turn to a bet.

Re: Trusting reads after a PF 3 bet

By checking the turn when the king falls you decide to forfeit the pot. I think you have to bet there and fold to a raise. Is TT or 99 out of the question? If he had QQ-AA he probably would have...

Re: pretty ez fold i think... what do you think?

I think you are looking at a set of 2's, 3's or AK. I don't think you are good a large enough % of the time to call this down for 2 (or more) BB.

Re: 3/6 TT hand

The advantage of 3-betting preflop is when you lead the flop when the ace hits, he'll probably fold any hand with no ace. If he calls, you can check/fold the turn UI.
