Understanding implied odds...
UTG+1 is a nutcase (like a 2+2er at a 2+2 table on crack). MP3 is a bit too LAG but is more solid and more reasonable. BB is unknown.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP3 raises, 2 folds, Hero... I'm getting about 3:1 immediate odds on a call, 4.3:1 if BB comes along. What say ye? |

Re: Understanding implied odds...
i hate having the raiser to my right in these situations. tough to collect double bets on later streets.

Re: Understanding implied odds...
is Party .5/1 the same as .25/.5 Paradise: the SB is actually 1/2 of a sB?
so it is even less to get in plus it is an easy "let go" hand if not made on cheap flop. i think i'd call. |
Re: Understanding implied odds...
UTG+1 is limp-reraising here a lot by your description and BB might not call. I would fold.
edit: I didn't even consider how many bets you'd make off UTG+1 when posting this. You're not getting the proper "5:1" that you need against semi-sane players, but you don't need that because UTG+1 is going to be betting and raising with almost anything. Droolie is right. |

Re: Understanding implied odds...
I would not want to play this out of position, calling pfr and not having enough bettors in the hand to pay off the infrequent set. 22 hu/sh seems like a clear fold at this point regardless of odds.
Just about the only way we win is a third two and meanwhile virtually anything on the flop puts us behind (if we aren't already). And after watching a couple 2+2 party tables, we'll definitely have to showdown. Seems too speculative for the expense involved... |
