I know I made a few mistakes on this hand, but to me I only went wrong on the last call. Was there a better way to play this?

Lay down the river bet - nout much u can do but keep some chips and battle on to next hand - a double up next hand and you become a threat to him again.

I'm going to beat Strass to his post. Push preflop. (Then curse when the big stack calls you and catches with that crap.) Seriously though, the aggressive heads up/push style is perfect for a hand like KQ. Push this preflop and if he does call, you did get your money in when you had the best of it. If he folds, you are one step closer to even stacks.

KQ is a strong hand heads up, you want to raise this pre-flop.
I only check a PF call if my hand is really weak or really strong and I want to trap.
Flop and turn bets look good.
