Default Two 99 hands for comment

HAND 1:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

Button (t255)
SB (t1310)
Hero (t880)
UTG (t620)
UTG+1 (t1110)
MP1 (t500)
MP2 (t870)
MP3 (t1670)
CO (t785)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t30, MP1 raises to t90, 2 folds, CO calls t90, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls t60.

I mostly follow the AleoMagus .DOC file when it comes to SNG play (and it's very solid, otherwise someone like myself with basically no SNG experience wouldn't start making money playing them right away), but I'm noticing that unless I double up early with a huge pocket pair, I almost always get shortstacked and have to start stealing blinds with crap somewhere around level 5 or so. I'm thinking I could stand to up my aggression a little bit early, so I don't get into that situation as often. With this in mind, had there been only one raiser here, I think I would have pushed. Would you? With a raiser and a cold-caller, I chickened out. Good fold, right? I later realized CO was way too loose, but didn't know it yet.

Flop: (t315) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG+1 bets t175, MP1 folds, CO folds.

Final Pot: t490
Main Pot: t315 (t315), won by UTG+1.
Pot 2: t175 (t175), returned to UTG+1.

Results in white below:
No showdown. UTG+1 wins t490.

Same tournament three hands later...
HAND #2:
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

MP2 (t255)
MP3 (t1295)
Hero (t835)
Button (t1270)
SB (t1305)
BB (t410)
UTG (t250)
UTG+1 (t1685)
MP1 (t695)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t50, 1 fold, MP1 calls t50, 1 fold, MP3 calls t50, Hero calls t50, 2 folds, BB checks,

With this many callers, there's little hope my all-in will win me the pot pre-flop, right? But I was approaching odds wherein I can shoot for a set. Good call despite there being three people left to act? It didn't violate the 10% rule.

Flop: (t275) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG bets t50, MP1 folds, MP3 calls t50, Hero folds, BB folds.

Turn: (t375) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets t150 (All-In), MP3 folds.

Final Pot: t525
Main Pot: t375 (t375), won by UTG.
Pot 2: t150 (t150), returned to UTG.
