I think I would like to post the whole tournament. Anyone have any thoughts on the best way to go about that? Are people fans of the replayer? (I don't really like how slow it is, but if other people like it...) Is is possible to post the whole log file, and intersperse formatted/converter hands that are interesting? (.TXTs too long?) Also, once poker tracker has sucked the tournament report down and deleted it from the email server, is there some way to pull the whole report back out into a text file? |

Re: Oops, I did it again!
This being the other hand that pissed me off. I know it's my own fault, turning into a calling station. I needed to do something on the flop, but I don't know what.

Re: AKo unimproved on the flop
Thinking about this situation makes my head hurt.
Bet out at least half the pot (bet the whole thing if you're feeling manly) or check-fold. If he flat calls you're stuck, of course. |

Re: Oops, I did it again!
You took both these hands too far.
The first hand you bet the flop, and shut it down after that. The second hand you either check/fold the flop, or you pot bet and shut it down on the turn. Don't put your tournament on the line in situations like this. Matt Flynn in pot/no limit always says AK is the nut no pair in a game of two pair or better. Not quite applicable, but it sounds nice . |

Re: Oops, I did it again!
Well, betting the pot costs 700 and doesn't give me a chance to catch overs/gutshot. He's going to call with overs and OESD. At least I only lost 300 post-flop my way. I mean, I "know" you're right, but... that's alot of chips to put in with ace-high.

Re: Oops, I did it again!
Another option is to check-raise strong on the flop. If you check, a Q or KK is likely to bet out to test the waters, and you may well be able to push them off their hand when you play the role of a slowplayed Ace by check-raising. If you bet out people are going to be wary of giving you credit for an A, so hands like KQ and KK aren't going anywhere.
But this depends very much on the tone of the game. In a passive game, KK or a Q may check behind you, giving you no information. If it is checked behind you can lead out the turn strong, and they may still give you credit for a slowplayed Ace. If called there, check the river. |

Re: Oops, I did it again!
EEEEEEEP
I slightly misread hand two. You either push/fold on the flop. Checking and calling is not the best option. Here it looks like a check/fold. Pushing all in PF with AK wouldn't have been too bad either. |

Re: Oops, I did it again!
Just for the record:
Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 6c 9d Th cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV As Kc 523 52.83 467 47.17 0 0.00 0.528 Jc Qh 467 47.17 523 52.83 0 0.00 0.472 So pushing is an interesting choice. Even if he shows me his OESD/overs, I should be happy. I didn't realize that. I'm ahead on this flop and have a higher than 50/50 chance of winning, there's 700 in the pot, I've got some fold equity and I represent an overpair (which he is a 2:1 dog to). But I can't see his hand... If he has any pair, A9/AT/KT/JJ/whatever, I'm a 4:1 dog, and almost certainly he's going to call and I'm probably out of the tournament. (BTW, what hands can you put someone on when they cold-call a regular-sized preflop raise? I think a middling pair that wants to see if the flop has an A or a K before committing?) In terms of statistics, if all hands were equally likely, the odds of him having a 9, 6, or T is = 1 - (36/47 x 35/46) = 42%, right? Does a flop lead-out push convey weakness/bluff? Who amoung you has the cajones to 1) push or to 2) check-raise all-in here? Do you prefer #1 or #2? |
