poker movies other than Rounders
I would like to know of any poker movies or movies with good poker scenes in them. But please not rounders, as I have seen it too many times.

Re: poker movies other than Rounders
Not long ago I caught a western poker movie... called Big Hand for the Little Lady. I actually enjoyed the movie quite a bit. I'm really not into westerns much, but this one I liked.
Check it out. -RMJ |

Re: poker movies other than Rounders
"The Cincinnatti Kid" and "Shade" have some really bad poker scenes. "Kid" is watchable for the characters. "Shade" is unwatchable. Lots of discussion here about "The Big Blind" and "Stuey" by people who haven't seen either.
Not about poker, but "Hard Eight" is a great film about the world of gambling. |

Ya, Hard Eight is good, but very depressing. It's Paul Thomas Anderson's (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love) first released film.

"Casino" is a very good movie. One of my favorites.
"The Cooler" is a fairly new, pretty decent, casino related movie. Niether of these are about poker though. Also, "The Color of Money" is a really good movie. It's about pool sharks, but I think most gamblers would find it interesting. |

[ QUOTE ]
This guy is supposed to be able to read his opponents like a book, but he can’t see that his best friend and girlfriend are poisonous, disloyal parasites? [/ QUOTE ] It's called self-denial. Without it, the game of poker would not exist. |
