Default Bad Fold on the Turn?

Was this a bad fold on the turn? And should I have bet or check-raised the flop?

Unless I had a real solid read on my opponent, I'd call down.

I'd also bet the flop.

Bet the flop.

I'm not folding on the turn, and especially on the river, but depending on the flop action (which I would have bet), and the turn action (which I would have bet), I may check-call the river. (If UTG+2 raised my flop and turn bets, then may be up against trips or flopped straight w/ a weak opponent).

What is the reasoning for betting the flop?

Someone with a gutshot draw (a lone T or 5) is getting the correct odds to draw. Betting may fold them.

I also bet because I bet my legit hands (flush draws, overpairs, sets, etc.)
