Default Two \"quiz\" questions

Question #1) Find the best "draw" possible -

Construct your hand, your opponents hand, and a flop such that

A. You are currently "behind". Meaning if the cards were to stop, your hand is lower ranking. They flopped trips to your pair, a pair to your high card, etc.

B. You have the greatest chance of winning the hand. Use of the available simulators to calculate your chances.

My best is a 69.2% winner according to http://www.twodimes.net/poker/

Question #2) What exactly does it take to flop the "stone cold nuts". (A hand that no matter what an opponent holds and the turn and river are, you cannot be beat) ?

Make sure to include ALL such situations.

Have fun.

#1.
My first guess, J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] vs. 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] flop is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. JT is a 72:28 favorite.

#2
I think that the worst hand that would be the absoulte nuts is a five high straight flush where you hold the A5.

Lost Wages

Edit: I keep changing my answer to #2!

1) Beat ya on my first attempt...
http://twodimes.net/h/?z=373002
pokenum -h 2s 2d - 9c tc -- 7c 8c qh
Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 8c 7c Qh
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
2s 2d 274 27.68 707 71.41 9 0.91 0.281
Tc 9c 707 71.41 274 27.68 9 0.91 0.719

2) To flop the "stone cold nuts" means that you have the best possible hand on the flop...but things have been known to change when the turn and river cards fall.

The following assumes that you meant greatest pot equity, and not greatest % of an outright win.

Richie, for #2 he means a hand that is not only the nuts on the flop, but can not be beaten no matter what the turn and river cards are. This is a tough question as even AQ with a QQQ flop could be beaten by a royal/straight flush by the end.

Lost Wages,
I was trying to think of a worse hand, but I think you might have it...I'll try to come up with one worse, though.

he said include ALL such hands

if you have A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and the flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] you cannot lose the hand, but you also cannot lose if you hold

K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and the flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

also if you hold K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and the flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] you can't lose

of course there are other combinations of hole cards you could have to flop the royal flush, but they are obvious

Any non idiot-end of a straight flush should do it. I don't think so.

I'm not sure of these percentages (I've never used and couldn't get the simulator to work)

I was playing an online tournament a few nights ago. It was after the two hour mark and I was in the middle of the field with about 5500T. I forgot the blinds; maybe 50-100. The table has been fairly tight and unagressive. UTG + 1 calls folded to me in the SB with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I raise to 750, BB folds, and UTG + 1 calls.

FLOP 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I didn't have a made hand; but I figured almost any card peeled would make me a winner. I bet out 2000T and they call. Turn blank (well for my hand atleast). I bet all-in and they call. He shows 44----the river pairs the 3 on the end and I get knocked out.

I had to be a huge favorite on the flop to many hands especially 44.
