I just received a letter from the Republican National Committee. It begins:

Dear Friend,

I don't want to believe you've abandoned the Republican Party, but I have to ask . . . Have you given up?

Our records show we have not yet received your Republican National Committee membership renewal for the critical 2004 presidential election year."

I can only surmise that either A) the letter was intended to go to some Quaker by the name of Andy Fox; B) their records are in the same mess the government is in; or C) both of the above. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Later on, the letter (from Mike Retzer, Treasurer) says that if I "feel the RNC has let you down, please let me know."

No, I don't feel the RNC has let me down. As Lewis Black says, the Democratic Party is the party of no ideas; the Republican Party is the party of bad ideas.

I got a call from a Bush Re-Election crew yesterday who asked if I would donate money to the campaign. I feel like George from Seinfeld thinking of a great thing to say after the fact (wasn't it the "jerk store"?), but instead I politely said "No thank you, I don't support his candidacy" and hung up.
