Default Axs and small pocket pairs in PP 2/4

Are these hands an automatic call, or do you look for a certain number of players or position to play?

In the lower limits, I'd play this from anywhere, but with tighter, more aggressive style in 2/4, not sure what is correct.

Also, I'm curious about smaller pocket pairs as well. I'd play them from anywhere in the lower limits as well, but it doesn't seem to be the right play here unless you have a few limpers and are in late position.

I've been playing them and doing OK... still too early to tell since I've only got about 1500 hands. In .5/1 every pocket pair and Axs hand was a winner for me in over 20k hands. I didn't play them much in 1/2.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Zoot,

Depends on what type of game you are in, not the limit. I was in a super-passive 20/40 at Foxwoods this weekend and limped in EP w/55, 33, both sets payed off nicely as the game became aggressive postflop.

Peace,
Joe Tall
