Default Good Move?

This move is mentioned in Sklansky's HEPFAP. That is, betting into a pottential made flush draw. The idea is that if you're reraised, you can safely fold because when you bet it is "just as scary" for your opponent if he has not made a flush.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (8 handed)

Hero (t785)
UTG (t800)
UTG+1 (t800)
MP1 (t1795)
MP2 (t770)
CO (t755)
Button (t1510)
SB (t785)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO calls t15, Button calls t15, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t60) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t60, CO calls t60, Button folds, SB folds.

Turn: (t180) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets t60, CO raises to t375, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t615
Main Pot: t300 (t300), won by CO.
Pot 2: t315 (t315), returned to CO.

Results in white below:
No showdown. CO wins t615.

My question is: Is this a good move in a no-limit SNG? Also, what would be a decent raise? I raised 1/3 pot, comments?

I would have raised T100 on the flop but not sure that would have helped. Lets see what others think.

Odd coincidence,

Just played this hand:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed)

Hero (t1280)
UTG (t630)
UTG+1 (t1227)
MP1 (t1365)
MP2 (t560)
CO (t1000)
Button (t1573)
SB (t365)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t30, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO calls t30, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t120) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t90, UTG+1 folds, CO calls t90, SB folds.

Turn: (t300) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets t100, CO calls t100.

River: (t500) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets t275, CO folds.

Final Pot: t775
Main Pot: t500 (t500), won by Hero.
Pot 2: t275 (t275), returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
Hero shows Ks 7c (two pair, kings and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins t775.

Notice how when I try "the move", instead of being raised, I am just called. I'm thinking that this means either the non-nut flush, a fairly strong hand, or the Ace of spades. I'd bet on the Ace of spades in this instance.

do you mean ace of clubs? cause ace of spades doesn't make much sense to me.

Might be nit-picking, but I think you might want to check that river. Once CO calls 100 on the turn, you've got to be worried about a mediocre made flush, and you don't want to be forced to lay down your hand on the river if he raises your bet all-in. Unless you had a particular read on this guy I think I'd check-call a bet of 300 or less here.

(Of course, I now realize that I've overlooked the fact that he may just have a decent K, in which case you probably should try to extract some value with your two pair.)
