Default Does time of day matter?

Just curious if the time of day in which you play is a factor in the skill level of your opponents. To me it would seem like there should be some correlation here, but I may be way off based. In fact, upon trying to figure out what the correlation would be I get a bit confused. Would it be better competition after 5 because people are getting out of work, or would it be better during the day because anyone playing at this point must be a player? I dont know, just curious if anyone has found any patterns.
