Default Right move on all-in?

I think I played this hand okay; the other guy said I was stupid and amateur to go all-in with 88. After his raise, I popped him trying to get him to fold since it was now heads-up. After he went all-in there was already so much money in the pot I had to call especially since I had him covered by about 70.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (9 handed)

Hero (t770)
SB (t715)
BB (t1945)
UTG (t770)
UTG+1 (t230)
MP1 (t1420)
MP2 (t770)
MP3 (t610)
CO (t770)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls t15, UTG+1 calls t15, MP1 calls t15, MP2 calls t15, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero calls t15, SB raises to t125, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Hero raises to t475, SB raises to t715 (All-In), Hero calls t240.

Flop: (t1505) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t1505) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t1505) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t1505

Results in white below:
SB shows Qd Qh (one pair, queens).
Hero shows 8h 8d (three of a kind, eights).
Outcome: Hero wins t1505.

Your bluff won't get anything except a pure steal to fold. You're representing AA or KK, but there is no way you would limp on the button with either of these hands with 4 limpers already in. So I can't see your opponent folding any legitimate hand.

As foolhardy as your play was, your opponent was the bigger fool to educate you that your play was bad.

Fold to his inital raise. Small favorite/big dog situation almost everytime.
