Default remembering what Reagan did to the deficit...

Let's not forget what Reagan's tax cuts did to federal revenues:

1980 517.1 billion
1981 599.3
1982 617.8
1983 600.6
1984 666.6
1985 734.1
1986 769.1
1987 854.1
1988 909.1
1989 990.7
1990 1090.5

And why? Because poor people became rich, and started paying taxes, when the government stopped printing money and using it to buy solar panels.

But it's so evil to borrow money from Japanese savers at 0%, when we could simply confiscate from Unites States businessmen, isn't it?

P.S. Here is revenues versus "defense" spending, 1981 through 1989:

599 134
618 158
601 185
667 210
734 227
769 253
854 273
909 282
991 290

Not hard to, um, see, how... not joining the USSR... created a trillion dollar debt?!?

Default He FUBAR\'d it

If you are seriously suggesting that Reagan cut taxes, ponder this : Ronald Reagan in his first year cut taxes and created so much red ink that next year promoted that largest (let me rephrase that) THE LARGEST (no, let me put it another way) THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN UNITED STATES HISTORY, a record that remains unbroken to this day!..

You or any other "gipped" fiscal conservative may wanna consult some serious sources for your figures. (Concentrate on that and ignore the fact that Ronnie's happy-hour economic policies allowed the criminal gutting of American manufacturing, the wholesale export of jobs, the decimation of the American middle class and the destructive Wall Street speculative plays of the 80s.)

Default Reagan was a Great President

Reagan's economic policy started a boom economy that with but a slight slowdown in the early 90's continued until it ended under Clinton in 1999/2000. It is unfortunate that the rampant domestic spending of Congressional Democrats ballooned the deficit.

Reagan's military policy ended the oppression of communism through much of the world.

Reagan showed the world that America was great again.

I was honored that I found this article on yahoo: Echoes of Reagan Heard in President Bush
